Eating In:
Buy your food in San Juan del Sur at the central market. You’ll find fresh produce, and a small convenience store with a great variety of imported goods and a selection of meats. If you’re looking for fish, the local fisherman’s co-op in San Juan is a short walk down the waterfront in a small wooden building where a wide variety of fish come in every afternoon. And don’t forget your speargun or fishing pole, the water outside the house is clear and full of fish. Once you arrive at Casa la Ceiba, there is a small shop nearby that stocks some basic supplies and every other day a produce truck comes to the house with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Dining Out
There are two little restaurants called “El Ranchito” and “Juanitas” 100 yards away from the house, very humble, but good seafood. A one kilometer walk down the beach you will find a group of four bars and restaurants right on the sand serving everything from fish tacos to wood fired pizzas in a brick oven. San Juan del Sur is only 20 minutes away, and in between there are even more restaurants to choose from.
